Employee engagement remains one of the biggest challenges facing organisations, particularly as people navigate heavier workloads, hybrid working, uncertainty and changing expectations of leadership. This one-day course helps middle and senior managers create the conditions where people feel trusted, valued, included and committed to meaningful work. Participants will explore the manager’s role in shaping everyday engagement through communication, fairness, recognition, clarity, empathy and accountability.
The course examines why employees disengage and how managers can identify early warning signs such as withdrawal, low energy, reduced contribution or cynicism. Learners will practise practical leadership behaviours that strengthen trust, belonging and psychological safety while still maintaining standards and performance expectations. Through reflection, discussion and team-based scenarios, participants will identify actions they can take immediately.
By the end of the course, managers will be better equipped to build engaged teams that perform sustainably, even in demanding and uncertain conditions.
