Delegation is one of the most important skills for managers, yet many avoid it because they fear losing control, reducing quality or overloading others. This one-day course helps managers learn how to delegate confidently while still maintaining accountability and oversight.
Participants will explore why delegation matters, what gets in the way, and how effective delegation can improve productivity, team capability and leadership impact. The course introduces a practical delegation framework covering task selection, expectation setting, authority levels, checkpoints, feedback and follow-up. Participants will learn how to avoid common mistakes such as vague instructions, micromanagement, unclear deadlines and taking work back too quickly.
Through workplace scenarios and practical exercises, learners will practise structuring delegation conversations that are clear, motivating and performance-focused. By the end of the course, participants will be able to delegate more effectively, free up their own time and support team members to take greater ownership and responsibility.
