Coaching is one of the most effective ways managers can develop people, improve performance and build ownership. This one-day course helps managers move away from always giving answers and towards helping others think more clearly, solve problems and take responsibility for their own development. Participants will explore the difference between coaching, mentoring, training and directing, and learn when each approach is most appropriate.
The course introduces practical coaching models, including structured questioning, active listening, goal setting and action planning. Through realistic workplace scenarios, learners will practise coaching conversations that support confidence, accountability and improvement. The course is especially useful for managers who want to develop their team members without creating dependency or becoming the constant problem-solver.
By the end of the day, participants will be able to use coaching skills in everyday conversations, performance discussions and development meetings to help people grow, reflect and act with greater confidence.
