Traditional performance management often feels formal, delayed and disconnected from everyday work. This one-day course helps middle and senior managers take a more coaching-led approach to performance, development and accountability. Participants will explore how regular, purposeful conversations can improve clarity, ownership and results.

The course focuses on shifting from simply giving instructions or solving problems to asking better questions, listening actively and helping people take responsibility for improvement. Learners will practise using coaching techniques in one-to-ones, performance reviews, development discussions and underperformance conversations. The course also examines how to balance support with challenge, especially when performance expectations are not being met. Through realistic workplace scenarios, managers will develop confidence in holding conversations that are honest, constructive and growth-focused.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to create a stronger performance culture through regular coaching-led conversations that improve capability, confidence, accountability and results.
