Assertiveness at Work

Speaking Up Clearly, Calmly and Professionally

£200.00£160.00

Assertiveness is the ability to communicate clearly and confidently without being passive, aggressive or defensive. This one-day course helps participants speak up, express their needs, set boundaries and handle challenging interactions professionally. Learners will explore the difference between passive, aggressive and assertive behaviour, and consider how confidence, assumptions and workplace culture affect communication.

The course provides practical techniques for saying no, making requests, giving opinions, challenging respectfully and responding to pressure. Participants will practise assertive language that is clear, calm and respectful, while maintaining positive relationships. The course is useful for anyone who struggles to speak up in meetings, manage unreasonable demands, deal with dominant personalities or express disagreement constructively.

By the end of the day, participants will feel more confident in communicating their position, protecting their time and contribution, and handling workplace conversations with greater balance, professionalism and self-respect.
